REVIEW: Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre

Today, I'm looking at Chanel's loose powder in natural finish loose powder in  'Natural 30'! Chanel's loose powder is meant to provide a translucent finish and maybe a hint of colour - it's best used over top foundation to set your make up.  Don't rely on it alone since it won't give a lot of coverage!

It's a combination of various ingredients with talc being the main component. This is kind of where I take issue with the product. Talc can come off as chalky - no matter how finely it is milled - when compared to mineral based loose powders.  I found that this loose powder wasn't as smooth and silky going on my skin as I would've liked.

The packaging is classic Chanel - simple and minimal with only the CC logo on top as usual.  The powder comes with its own little powder puff (pictured above), but I've refrained from using it since it gives an uneven application and picks up QUITE a lot of the powder  (you might end up looking a little clown-like). So, remember to use your own powder brushes for an even finish!

Price point is reasonable for the brand and amount of powder in the product. It's about $54 (for 30 grams) if I can remember correctly and it will last you months to a year.  I noticed a tiny bit of glitter in the powder as well, which helps to give your skin some glow.

All in all, not a bad product but there are better loose powders out there particularly at that price point.
