REVIEW: Koreadepart

Another shop review! :) Koreadepart is a large online shopping retailer and wholesaler that sells cosmetics, clothing, accessories, and food that ships directly from Korea.  Founded in 2000, the company is headquartered in Seoul with several branch offices and warehouses in other cities around Korea.

You can purchase items from them as a guest or as a registered member.  As a member, you can accrue points.  $1 dollar is equal to 1 point, 1 product review is equal to 0.12 points, and 1 login to your account is equal to 0.06 points.  Members can then apply those points towards their purchases, but only if you have enough points to pay for the full cost of a product. Also, points cannot be applied towards shipping costs.  You can also gain VIP status as a member where you are entitled to further discounts on prices and other perks.

What I like about Koreadepart is how much information is provided on their products. A lot of Korean online retailers don't include ingredient information or sometimes even descriptions about what their products do.  Koreadepart, for the most part, includes the primary ingredients, a short description, and sometimes how-to instructions for their cosmetics and skincare products.

Price-wise, I've noticed a lot of variation.  Some products are a lot cheaper and others can be more expensive.  However, Koreadepart almost always has sales and discounts happening for popular products, so if you keep an eye out for those you can end up saving a lot of money.

Shipping is based on weight and whether you want registered air mail (2-8 weeks) or EMS express shipping (5-10 business days) and whether or not you live in their "Fixed Cost Zone" (East & South East Asian countries) or their "Tariff Shipping Zone" (everywhere outside of the Fixed Cost Zone).  This method of pricing can get expensive quick, especially if you are ordering heavy items.  So be careful about getting hit with unexpectedly high shipping charges at the end of your order! However, the time between when your order is received electronically, confirmed, and when your final package is prepared and shipped out is very quick in my experience.

Samples are also generous and they are included automatically to your order.  I received a sheet mask and several other popular items.  As for my actual purchases themselves, they were all packed with bubble wrap carefully to protect them.

Overall, I will definitely shop from Koreadepart again when they have good sales.
